The Salad to Please Everyone

Ok, I know, that’s a pretty bold title. But if you actually make this salad, you’ll see what I’m talking about. It’s really that good!


This recipe is great for parties because it’s big enough to serve several people, tastes great, and is also hearty and satisfying. Plus, it’s loaded with healthy nutrients, if you’re into that sort of thing.

From antioxidants to healthy fats, protein, and fiber, this salad has it all!

Here’s what you’ll need:
1 head of red leaf lettuce (or spinach, arugula, mesclun mix, greens of your choice)
1 pear, sliced
1-2 carrots, graded or sliced
1/4 cup pomegranate seeds
handful of walnuts, crushed
Smoked cheese of any kind – like gouda, cheddar, or mozzarella (shaved, about 1/4 – 1/3 cup)
1 avocado, sliced
1 bunch basil
1 bunch cilantro
Balsamic vinegar
Extra virgin olive oil
Salt & pepper

Combine all the ingredients, first the greens, then the pear, nuts, and pomegranates, and drizzle with the olive oil and vinegar to taste. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and serve. Goes great with a cup of tea.
