I love overnight oats because you can make them the night before and breakfast is ready as soon as you wake up. You can even easily bring it along with you to work or the gym! Even though there is chocolate, this breakfast recipe is still pretty healthy overall. A couple of weeks ago, I was reminiscing about the foods I used to eat before I cared about what I was putting into my body. I had quite the sugar addiction! I used to eat S’mores Pop-Tarts and that’s how I thought of this recipe, S’mores Overnight Oats. This recipe tastes almost as good as those with much healthier ingredients, way more protein and much less sugar.
S’mores Overnight Oats Ingredients
1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cocoa powder
1/2 cup plain or vanilla Greek yogurt
1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
1 tablespoon maple syrup
Handful each of mini marshmallows and chocolate chips (optional)
In a pint ball jar or anything with a screw on lid add the oats, cinnamon, and cocoa powder and mix.
Add in the yogurt, almond milk, and maple syrup and thoroughly combine.
Top with chocolate chips and mini marshmallows and throw the lid on.
Place in the fridge overnight or for at least 8 hours.
In the morning top with some crumbled graham crackers.
I think I’m going to make another batch of these tonight. It’s so exciting to have something ready to go as soon as you wake up, and they’re so delicious!
