DIY Coconut + Lime Body Scrub

By Deanna Dorman June 19, 2015

One of the best things about the summertime is being outside!  Whether it is catching a tan at the beach or working out in the park, it just feels great to get some fresh air and sunshine.  The only downside here is that the powerful rays of the sun can dry out our skin.

This deliciously scented, all natural scrub, helps us maintain healthy, smooth skin all year around! It is part of my weekly pampering session to help exfoliate any dry skin and come out of the shower feeling (and smelling) delightfully refreshed!

It’s made with our all-time favorite ingredient – coconut oil, as well as some bright-scented lime essential oil for a perfect tropical “mini-vacation”…in your shower! LOL!

Try adding this scrub or some Vanilla Coconut Scrub into your weekly routine. Or, better yet after a relaxing soak with some Homemade Bath Salts. After all that deep cleansing work in the shower, your post-wash moisturizer will be better able to soothe and hydrate your skin giving you an even softer, smoother look to show off at the beach!

1/2 cup Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

1 1/2 cups Sugar

10 drops Lime Peel Essential Oil

1 teaspoon fresh Lime Zest

1. Using a hand mixer, whip the coconut oil for about 10 minutes, scraping the sides down every few minutes.

2. Add the sugar and lime essential oil.

3. Mix for another minute or so.

4. Fold in the lime zest.
