Chipotle is a staple in my diet. It’s seriously SO addicting but I have to be careful about how I order because the calories can add up, FAST.
I honestly go there about once a week… it’s bad. But not really because they actually have pretty good options and it’s delicious. I consider Chipotle one of the healthier on-the-go spots, compared to a lot of the other fast food-ish restaurants.
It’s also won my heart over because I’ve been able to eat there on every single
diet eating fad I’ve been on. Whole30? Yep. Vegan? Yep. Vegetarian? Yep. They have it all. Which is why I thought I’d share my favorite orders on each of those diets & more.
My go-to: a steak burrito with no rice or sour cream. So good!
See the image above for my everyday order, when I’m enjoying carbs + meat + everything in between. I start with getting one order of carbs — tortilla (burrito or tacos) or rice. Not both. Add in black beans, extra veggies, steak (but you can do meat of choice or sofritas), a little pico de gallo, corn salsa, light cheese, guacamone (yes, I know it’s extra!) and lettuce. YUM.
Vegetarian is really easy to do at Chipotle. Just avoid the meat and you’re good to go!
Surprisingly, you can eat the burrito and taco tortillas, but avoid the meat, cheese and sour cream. Salads, burritos and tacos are all good options.
There’s actually only 4 whole30-approved items on the menu: romaine lettuce, carnitas, guacamole, and pico de gallo. To keep me fuller longer, I would order double carnitas, double guac or both.
When I’m in the mood to indulge, I go for a steak quesadilla with a side of corn salsa and a side of guac. MMM. I’m not eating fried food this year, but if I were to get chips, I’d either split them with someone or get the kids size. They’re already portioned for you!
No matter what you go for, remember to go for water instead of soda & you’re good to go!
